How to Whitelist Websites on Bye Bye Ads

Nov 10, 2021

Ad blockers have made intrusive online ads a thing of the past. The only downside is that ad-blocking software can often be all-or-nothing tools that don’t separate useful ads from those that are distracting and annoying. Fortunately, when you use Bye Bye Ads, you have the option to whitelist sites that have less obtrusive advertising.

What is whitelisting?

A whitelist refers to a list of URLs that have special permissions. For instance, if you add your bank’s URL to your ad blocker’s whitelist, you will be able to view ads when you navigate to the bank’s website. Whitelisting is a great option if you are unable to access a website when using your ad-blocking software or if the site has minimal or non-intrusive advertisements.

Steps to whitelist URLs on Chrome

Step 1: Click the Bye Bye Ads icon on the Chrome toolbar. Then, click the small gear icon, which is located in the upper-right corner.

Step 2: Click on the “Whitelisted websites” tab and select “Add a website”

Step 3: Finally, enter the URL of the website and click “Add website”

Once you complete these steps, you will be able to view all advertisements on the whitelisted URL.
